Wood Technology .............................Monday 20th January 2014 -Monday 21st July 2014

 

 In this module you will develop and learn skills with respect to working with wood. Wood is a natural material often with a beautiful figurative grain  that designers always want to capitalise on and incorporate into the overall look of the product.
Wood has a moisture content and is not always straight, it has knots, splits and shakes and as a result there can be quite a lot of wastage. 

You will make a Spatula, a Photo frame and a door wedge, projects designed to give opportunity to work economically with a range of   hardwoods   and softwoods. Your final project in this module will be to research the shape and form of Modern Formula One racing cars, and produce a scaled model out of wood.
 

        All of your coursework should be submitted for final assessment on Monday 21st July 2014
