For your Year 7 Project you are going to design and make a free standing Structure.

 

It will look something like the example shown in the photograph.

 

The Structure or “Fishy Display” will be your unique design (and when you think about it, it will be the only one in the whole wide world!!)

 

You will decide upon the shape and form of the front and back seaweed, and the shape of the fish.

 

You will produce lots of design ideas in your booklet, and produce a very accurate card model before you make it.

 

A range of resistant materials will be used to make it.

 

You will develop techniques to work with Mild Steel, Acrylic, High Impact Polystyrene (HIPs) and Wood.

 

You will learn how to use Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Manufacture (CADCAM) to produce parts for your Project.

 

You will learn how to Braise Mild Steel to form a permanent and strong join.
